analysis: tablet ASUS fonepad 7

ASUS already has long experience in tablets, and ideas abound for the company. Some time ago, the company launched a model called fonepad, who comes to serve as a tablet that has the capacity to make calls.

Now the company is launching a new version of the device, which was named fonepad 7 (the number refers to the screen size). The concept is the same, but some features have been improved.

Apparently, the company is betting that this is a market trend, so a new version can make a lot of sense. The hardware is better, but does he have all that is needed to win the consumer? Does he really manages to bring together the best of both worlds? Let's find out!

Visual flashy

The ASUS fonepad calls attention to the design . The visual condone other handsets launched by the company earlier , but differs by the small details . Without much thought, we can say that the look of the unit is fine and should please the most demanding consumers .

The curves of the product are soft , the workmanship is very good and the positioning of the external elements was thought to leave the functional tablet . The plastic housing is sensitive , but the dark color with bright back is attractive. It is comfortable and easy to hold the device with both hands and with two .

The speakers at the front are a great idea because they assure better sounding time for enjoying multimedia content . Centralized camera on the back does not bother at all and hardly your hand will be in front of the lens at the time the photographs.

The 7 inch screen is very good . The technology of the display is IPS and the resolution is 1280x800 pixels, which ensures optimal image quality . Doing the math, you realize immediately that the density of the display is not very high , but you will hardly bothered with the pixels on the screen , because only those who are extremely observer able to see them .

The brightness level of the display is high , it is possible to use the product even on sunny days. The colors are vivid , and there is no distortion of the content even when the screen is viewed from the side. This means that it is perfect for two or even three people to see the images presented no problems . The touch sensitivity lets not desired.

Powerful !

A 7-inch tablet does not need such a robust hardware , but ASUS did not skimp when planning the unit . The processor here is an Intel Atom dual-core operating clocked at 1.6 GHz He realizes the system and the software of ASUS without any hassles .

We run many apps simultaneously jump from one to another and had no problems . The RAM is 1 GB , which means giving to execute almost all softwares and games from Google Play .

Equipped with PowerVR SGX544MP2 graphics processor, the fonepad 7 has enough to play major games today with satisfactory performance power. Can you run RoboCop, 8 Asphalt, Injustice, Mini Ninjas and many others without difficulty.

Apps and brilliant options!

If there is something we can not complain about is the incredible amount of features this unit.
ASUS's software is neat, making life easier for the user you want maximum choice without having to download many apps.

Among so many advantages, it is worth highlighting the customizable menu. You can hide and lock some apps so that eavesdroppers do not move where they should not. The camera app is another part of the system that has a number of facilities. Besides being enjoyable, the settings are easy to access.

The function bar contains extra features. You can, for example, lock the bar not to accidentally bumping the buttons. Want more? Can you add quick shortcuts to not have to go back to the desktop to open some common apps. The notification area has several resources for you to control your tablet without difficulties.

Battery and camera that does not disappoint

The battery fonepad 7 is not the best we've seen on a tablet, but certainly surprising. In our tests, the unit energy consumed little time to play videos via WiFi network

To verify the performance of the energy component, we reproduce a movie 1 hour with the brightness set to 50% screen. Results: 18% of the battery was consumed for playing content. Doing the math, we know that there is enough to endure almost 6 hours of film energy.

ASUS promises that the battery can last 7 fonepad up to 28 hours for calls. We did not have the courage to stand so long on the phone. However, performing either call, accessing the web and using some apps, can you use the tablet all day and still have about 20% of energy left at the end of the journey.

The fonepad 7 is not a product that purports to offer the best camera on the market, so we were not expecting great quality in the photographs. It is curious, however, that the images are very good. Automatic tuning is excellent and the camera focuses quickly, but of course only works well in environments with good lighting.
fail

Slightly fragile

While in Caprice design, ASUS has not had much attention to the materials used. Yes, it is obvious that some of this "oversight" is deliberate, just might leave cheap and affordable gadget. Anyway, it is important to note that the unit has a very fragile housing and should not endure a lot of punch.

The plastic on the back is smooth and can happen to slip the tablet , so it's important to hold it with both hands . So , if you are a consumer who values quality construction and accepts a very sensitive gadget certainly need to think twice before betting on fonepad 7 .

Not so impressive

The speakers were well positioned and present quality , but the volume is not very high , so you can not expect great sound experience in noisy environments . The tablet comes with a program that lets you adjust the sound quality , but it's more of a software equalizer than something that actually changes the volume.

Few tablets bring camera with flash , so we were not stunned that this product from ASUS did not have this extra . Anyway , it is a point to be emphasized , since the flash can make a difference in time to capture nighttime images .

Finally, we report that the appliance had some problems when running some games. Apparently, the processor is incompatible with some games, and we mention Buddy & Me and Deadman's Cross.

It is worth

Surely it's worth buying this tablet. Sold for about 900 reais, ASUS fonepad 7 is certainly one of the best options in the market when we think of value for money, especially if we take into account that it makes calls!

The high quality hardware, the screen with intense colors and exclusive ASUS software makes it worth every penny. Battery autonomy and with good front speakers are other points that impressed us. We were pleased with the product, both in the tablet functions as for the calls.

The fonepad 7 is a bit large, so it is difficult to use it as a phone the first few times, but the quality of the links is very good. The software to make calls, organize accounts and messages are very similar to those of any other cell.

Although the quality of the materials is not the best and the camera does not offer great results, we can say that this tablet is a great bet. It seems that ASUS have here a device that can fight peacefully with competitors. The question is whether you need a tablet with telephony functions.
