13 billion $ in iPhones are stored in drawers

Research conducted by OnePoll shows that 40% of people keep their old appliances to use them in an emergency

 

A survey conducted by OnePoll shows that a lot of people often leave older iPhone models stored somewhere to acquire a more current version of the device .

According to the company , 40 % of respondents keep their smartphones in some drawer or box, while 20 % donate the product to family and 9 % just playing outdated device in the trash .

Based on these data, the MarketWatch site concluded that approximately $ 13 billion in equipment type are forgotten somewhere while they could contribute as resold devices . This value corresponds to approximately 35 % of the resale value of all the old gadgets available on sites like SellCell and Gazette .

Despite the large amount of money that is "out of circulation" because of that situation , the inclusion of these devices in the resale market could contribute to its stagnation . Cycles increasingly shorter life of electronic products are contributing to the saturation of this segment and to decrease the prices achieved for older devices .
